Wedding photography in France – Jenn and Jonny’s Chateau wedding
We always love capturing destination wedding photography in France. Jenn and Jonny’s wedding had us heading out to Chateau de Lartigolle in the South West of France which is just an hour’s drive from Toulouse.
We met Jenn and Jonny just before the wedding when we captured a last-minute Pre-wedding photoshoot in London. These guys were worried that they’d feel awkward being photographed so it was a chance for us to alleviate those worries, have some fun and show them how to relax in front of the camera.
We travelled to Chateau de Lartigolle with the wedding party as it gave us a chance to get to know everybody so that by the time it came to us photographing and filming them, they were totally relaxed around us.
Chateau Lartigolle is a beautifully renovated 18th-century chateau with a courtyard, a terrace, a swimming pool and tennis court, five salons and luxury guest accommodations. Jenn and Jonny couldn’t have found a more romantic and atmospheric location for their wedding. The experienced team at Chateau Lartigolle helped with the planning and sourced trusted vendors for Jenn and Jonny, which helped them enormously.
The celebrations started with welcome drinks by the pool before guests moved to the ceremony space that had been set up outside on the lawns behind the chateau, with two mature trees providing some natural shade.
Jenn looked amazing in a beautiful body-skimming satin backless dress with an elegant cowl neckline, that she bought at The Own Studio, her hair was styled in an elegant loose up do and her make-up was immaculate both courtesy of Lucie Blundell-Jones. Jonny struck a perfect tone looking both smart and relaxed in a blue suit that he bought from Edit Suits.
After the ceremony guests headed for the courtyard for the celebrations, with Jenn and Jonny being welcomed with a fun confetti moment. The courtyard had been dressed exquisitely for the wedding reception with long rows of tables decorated with flowers in orange, peach, yellow and blue. Jenn and Jonny had been specific about wanting bright flowers and La Chateau de Lartigolle’s in-house florist Jo Fairers ran with the brief and created some amazing arrangements.
When it came to food, Jenn and Jonny attended a tasting session and created a bespoke menu with La Chateau Lartigolle’s in-house catering team. They were keen to treat their guests to an authentic culinary experience so chose delicious regional cuisine that went down really well with everybody.
Now we must mention the speeches because they were really special. They were given by Jenn’s father, by Jonny and by his best man and managed to be both heartfelt and humorous. So, one way or another, there wasn’t a dry eye amongst the guests.
Entertainment was in the form of roaming band The Brother Rockers who wandered around the reception unplugged serenading guests with popular songs. They were so fun and had guests up dancing and singing along. They even learned the song ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ by the Beatles at Jenn and Jonny’s request.
As the sun began to set the strings of fairy lights across the courtyard lit creating a really magical vibe, which was added to in the first dance, with guests standing around Jenn and Jonny holding sparklers. Here, take a look!
This kickstarted the evening entertainment and there were some fantastic dancefloor antics. As always with us, we got stuck in on the dancefloor and captured some great images and film. With most weddings, the fun ends there, but for Jenn and Jonny’s wedding, the following day’s pool party and BBQ saw that Jenn, Jonny and their guests enjoyed a full weekend of celebrations. And we were there to capture every moment!
A beautiful chateau wedding in France for a lovely couple. Congratulations to Jenn and Jonny for getting married and creating an amazing wedding adventure for yourselves and your loved ones. We hope our images and film will enable you to relive it again and again for many years to come.
We’ll leave the last words to Jenn and Jonny, here are their thoughts on us.
We wanted the photos and film from the weekend to feel candid – to capture the mood of people mingling, dancing and the special moments between Jon and me. Ash and Mick absolutely delivered. We will be looking back on these photos and films for the rest of our lives
We loved the fact that Mick and Ash have often been mistaken for wedding guests – too often at weddings, we’ve felt that the photographers / videographers are so intent on capturing the couple that as guests we are just in the way. This talent for blending in means that our guests were free to be themselves, let loose and have a great party.
After our wedding weekend, Mick and Ash genuinely felt like friends rather than hired vendors and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
If, like Jenn and Jonny, you’re having your wedding in France, and are looking for experienced France wedding photographers and videographers to capture your day with beautiful storytelling images and film, then feel free to get in touch. We’d love to hear about your wedding plans.
