Savile Club Wedding Photography & Savile Club Wedding Videographer – Abbie & Alastair wedding at Savile Club
Back in September, we shot Abigail and Alistair’s amazing London Jewish wedding. The ceremony was held at the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue which is where Alistair’s parents and grandparents were married so it had a really special connection with the family.
Abigail and Alistair, who describe themselves as ‘hardcore Londoners’, got engaged in Puglia whilst scuba diving in an underwater cave, which in our book makes them pretty hardcore explorers as well!
Abigail looked stunning in her traditional Lyn Ashworth gown with three-quarter length French lace sleeves and a full silk chiffon skirt. She looked so chic and in her own words ‘felt like a queen’. Her hair was the clever creation of Charlie from Electric Hairdresser in Marylebone who not only styled it to perfection but who Abigail described as a pleasure to work with. Alistair was rocking a classic suit from T M Lewin and with bridesmaids in matching blush Penelope Floaty gowns this was a seriously stylish wedding!
Abigail and her dad travelled in the family Rolls-Royce previously owned by Alastair grandfather and passed down through the family for each wedding. A lovely tradition and a stunning car. We loved this car so much we couldn’t exclude it from our list of best wedding cars of 2020.
After a gorgeous ceremony, there was time for us to take some great shots before everybody headed to The Savile Club in Mayfair for the reception. One of the top London wedding venues. Abigail and Alistair travelled in the classic convertible Mercedes (this was a great wedding for classic cars too!)
We have so much to say about shooting wedding photography at the Savile Club that we don’t know where to start. So we’ll start by telling you that The Savile Club is a private members club with a rich history that boasts itself as one of the most distinguished wedding reception venues in London. And we have to say, we agree. Its epic ballroom, magnificent dining room and roof terrace with spectacular views of the London skyline are amazing. Then there’s the Michelin star chef Michael James, who works with brides and grooms to design their very own menu. And if that’s’ not enough The Savile Club’s cellars give you their clients access to the very best wines. The Savile Club really is a high-end luxury at its very best. Not wanting to compromise, Abigail and Alistair wanted a country house style wedding in the heart of London which is exactly what the Savile Club gave them.
Flowers on the day were epic and were the clever creation of Jamie Aston and were something I know Abigail and Alistair were fascinated with.
Now we love to see something different with wedding favours so Abigail and Alistair’s little packets of handmade passion fruit and cherry rock with their names inside were brilliant. They were made and ordered bespoke from an artisan candy store in Barcelona called Papa Bubble. It’s lovely that Abigail and Alistair put so much thought and attention into gifts for their wedding guests.
The wedding cake was a family affair as it was made by Alistair’s extremely talented Grandma Juliet. She got to work as soon as the pair got engaged when she started making the sugarcraft flowers for the cake. So it really was a labour of love.
Food on the day was also a nod to Abigail and Alistair’s engagement in Puglia with Italian inspired flavours with truffles, basil, pecorino, artichokes and courgette flowers. The food at this wedding was like a work of art in itself. If there’s something Abigail and Alistair’s wedding had a lot of it was special touches. A highlight of the day was when Abigail’s father sung ‘one enchanting evening’ and Abigail did a surprise speech and a poem for Alistair. It’s was very sweet.
Now we love a party, and it turns out Abigail and Alistair’s guests were well up for a party as well. Evening entertainment was provided by The Matzoh Boys (check them out on YouTube) They provided all the music on the day from the synagogue ceremony, the Israeli dancing and the party music late on that saw Abigail, Alistair and their guests dancing well into the night.
We loved shooting Abigail and Alistair’s epic Savile Club wedding and we love shooting wedding photography at The Savile Club. Congratulations you guys! We’ll leave the last words to Abigail and Alistair. Here’s what they had to say about working with us.
“Mick and Ash were an absolute dream find. From the moment we first met them for our complimentary pre-wed shoot, we realised they were not only exceptionally nice guys but also extremely talented and great fun to work with. They made us feel comfortable and relaxed and expertly balanced the requests of bride/groom/family and friends! They even helped the bride and groom escape when the formal photos were becoming a bit too much! The Images and film they produced are creative and beautiful and we would recommend them to everybody.”
