Kew Gardens Wedding Photography
As busy London wedding photographers and also destination wedding photographers we get to see some amazing outdoor spaces at the wedding venues we work at. Though none more iconic than when we shoot wedding photography at Kew Gardens. There are so many reasons why we love shooting Kew Gardens wedding photography that it’s easiest if we just list them. We love this place so much we listed Kew Gardens as one of the top London wedding venues. We’ve been strict with ourselves and limited our reasons to five or else this would have been the longest page EVER!
We love shooting wedding photography and videography at Kew Gardens because…
1. Suitable for any wedding no matter what your style, theme or size - They will make anything work!
Kew Gardens is the most beautiful wedding venue for large or small celebrations. For an intimate celebration, you can hire the Cambridge Cottage. It has lots of period charm and features and can accommodate 80 guests seated and 120 standing.
For larger celebrations of up to 200 guests, there are a series of beautiful 19th-century glasshouses to choose from as well as Temperature House. The first of these glasshouses is The Nash Conservatory, originally built on the grounds of Buckingham Palace, it was meticulously removed brick by brick and relocated in Kew. Floor to ceiling windows on three sides gives unparalleled views onto the gardens.
The Orangery has high ceilings and large arched windows. Atmospheric, its large open plan design makes it ideal for a wedding reception and party. It has a large terrace surrounded by lit trees creating a magical feel in the evening at weddings in the summer months.
The most complex and awesome glasshouse at Kew Gardens is The Princess of Wales, which looks stunning illuminated after dark. Different climates take you and your guests on a fascinating world tour of flora and fauna. How many wedding venues offer you that!
Temperature House is the world’s largest Victorian glasshouse and is the perfect space for a wedding dinner and reception. This glistening cathedral is home to over 10, 000 species of plants bringing something beautiful and truly unique to your wedding day.
2. Lush garden feel with all the necessaries of a top classic venue - That’s Kew Gardens alright!
it is such an iconic venue. These royal botanical gardens are a world heritage site with over 50,000 plants in their collection. With wedding venue gardens, we maybe get two or three pretty backdrops whereas at Kew there’s 360 degrees of breathtakingly stunning garden backdrops. Guests can even board the Kew train to enjoy a tour of the gardens as part of your wedding day.
3. Beautiful light in every corner of the venue all year round - That’s what wedding photography at Kew Gardens is all about!
of the amazing light. It won’t surprise you to learn that getting married in stunning 19th century glass houses mean that natural light is abundant. You will never hear London wedding photographers complaining that they have too much natural light. We love playing with the light to create beautiful, romantic and timeless images.
4. Looks fabulous in every season - Every season creates a different Kew Garden wedding.
It is a wedding venue for all seasons. I know that phrase is often heard but at a garden venue, it is quite literal. In Spring enjoy vast quantities and varieties of blossoms, budding leaf buds on trees and the mating calls of an array of birdlife. In summer months the Rose Garden blooms, wedding parties spill out onto the tree lit terraces and we make the very best of those beautiful sunsets. In autumn enjoy the colour and beauty of the gardens especially by the lake and in winter the gardens are still bursting with life. Kew Gardens weddings have one of Europe’s most comprehensive holly collections that look beautiful when dusted with winter frost or snow. At Christmas Kew Gardens takes on a beautiful and magical winter wonderland feel that is perfect for a winter wedding celebration.
5. The staff at Kew Gardens go the extra mile to ensure you have the best day ever!
The staff always give their couples a buggy to tour the Gardens so that we can capture the most romantic wedding photography at Kew Gardens in the most scenic locations in the gardens. And with 320 acres of gardens, the buggy is very much needed. When we shoot wedding photography at Kew Gardens, we love getting images and film of our couples in the Japanese Gardens, the Grecian temples, the Mediterranean landscapes, the tropical rainforests and the English country garden.
