Wedding photography at Old Marylebone Town Hall

This Edwardian Grade II listed building in the heart of London is faced with Portland Stone which gives it a really palatial feel.  There is no wonder why this iconic venue is listed in our top 30 London wedding venues. When we shoot wedding photography at Old Marylebone Town Hall it always makes us feel like we are part of history with so many famous and historic people also getting married here.

Marylebone Town Hall is dubbed “the coolest in the UK” because of the list of music and stage legends who got married there including Paul McCartney. Paul went further than most marrying both Linda in the 60’s and then his third wife Nancy in 2011. Bandmate Ringo Starr also got married in the 80’s. Like Paul McCartney, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher also married here twice to Patsy Kensit and Nicole Appleton. There is a long list of celebrities who married at Marylebone Town Hall it is impossible to mention them all because we would be here all day….

We love the fact that they offer 7 beautifully unique rooms for couples to choose from and can accommodate small intimate weddings right through to large lavish affairs.

Let’s start with the largest room and work our way down to the smallest.

The Westminster Room seats 100 guests and has a grand and stately feel with detailed plasterwork on the ceiling and opulent wood panelling on the walls.  These are perfectly balanced with muted soft grey interiors.  It adjoins to the smaller Marylebone and Paddington Rooms so that at larger celebrations these two smaller rooms with the same interiors can be connected in a way that makes the spaces blend seamlessly.

The Knightsbridge Room seats 30 guests.  An elegant and stately room it has a feature fireplace, subtle lighting and a muted grey colour scheme on the panel walls.

If wood panelling isn’t your thing then The Pimlico Room has light walls and a large mirror above a feature fireplace that throws light around this elegant and stylish room.  Despite only having capacity seat up to 20 guests its light interior and high ceiling give it an airy and spacious feel.

The Mayfair Room can seat up to 30 guests.  Like all of the rooms, it has a feature fireplace but also has soft and subtle modern lighting, a soft grey feature wall around the fireplace and distinctive aubergine chairs that give the room a richer more sumptuous colour palette.

The Paddington Room seats up to 15 guests and has a feature fireplace, wood panelling and a beautiful chandelier.  A lovely ceiling to floor window throws in additional natural light.  It can be adjoined to The Westminster Room for larger celebrations or hired on its own for a more personal ceremony.

The Soho Room seats 14 guests (with standing room for an additional 6) A beautifully carved mantel and mirror along with an elegant modern chandelier and light grey walls softened the room and add additional light.

The Marylebone Room seats 12 guests and can accommodate a further 3 standing.  Wood panelling, a feature chandelier and detailed plasterwork on the ceilings give this room an opulent and stately feel which is perfectly balanced and softened with the light grey fabric interiors.  It can be adjoined to The Westminster Room for larger ceremonies or perfect hired on its own for a more intimate affair.

Old Marylebone Town Hall is so centrally located it is within walking distance of several fantastic wedding venues.  No 11 Cavendish Square, One Marylebone and Portland Place are just three and are literally a stones’ throw away.
