Ascona Hotel Eden Roc Wedding Photographer – Gemma and Kevin’s
As seasoned destination wedding photographers, we were thrilled to be booked to photograph and film Gemma and Kevin’s wedding in Ascona, Switzerland. Ascona is a town in southern Switzerland known for its Mediterranean-style architecture and café-lined promenade on Lake Maggiore. Its beauty has long made it a magnet for artists, writers and cosmopolitans looking to take inspiration from the beautiful landscape of lakes and mountains. Gemma and Kevin couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful location for their wedding.
Kevin is Swiss and Gemma is British, and they chose Hotel Eden Roc as the venue for their wedding. Gemma’s family has a connection with the venue as her family has been going to the hotel for four generations and she’d always dreamed of getting married there.
For destination wedding photography we like to travel out with the wedding party a few days earlier so that everybody can get used to us. We used our time wisely by having a pre-wedding shoot with Gemma and Kevin a couple of days before the wedding. This gave them a chance to get used to us photographing and filming them and for us to give them advice on how to relax in front of the camera.
Multi-award-winning Hotel Eden Roc is a five-star luxury hotel located on the shores of Lake Maggiore that boasts a 2-star Michelin restaurant. Their staff were just incredible. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Gemma, Kevin, their guests or us.
Experienced Ascona wedding photographer and videographer
Gemma looked amazing in a stunning bridal gown by her favourite Israeli designer Lihi Hod. Her wedding planner Lucy Bunkell sourced an amazing hairstylist in Larrissa Caggiona and make-up artist Fabio Sarra finished Gemma’s look. Gemma looked like she’d just stepped out of the pages of a high-end bridal magazine. Here, take a look!
Kevin looked very smart in a traditional black tie from Tailor’s Project.
The wedding ceremony took place on the pontile by the shores of the lake with spectacular views of the serene mountains. A chuppah was erected and decorated with exquisite flowers in soft pinks, whites and blues that Gemma’s mother chose and created by florist Fiore Allocchiello from Italy.
The traditional Jewish ceremony was a joy to capture and included Kevin stamping on a cloth-covered glass to represent the fragility of life and to serve as a reminder to Gemma and Kevin to make the most of every day together. As wedding photographers, we’re very experienced at photographing and filming Jewish weddings and find they really suit our documentary style of wedding photography.
After the ceremony, as guests enjoyed a drinks reception. Gemma and Kevin took a speed boat trip on the serene lake and we captured some truly gorgeous images. Here, take a look!
Beautiful storytelling wedding photography in Ascona
Gemma and Kevin returned to join their guests and everybody headed inside for the wedding breakfast which Gemma and Kevin had discussed with the hotel’s talented team of chefs who then created a bespoke wedding menu for them. The food was simply out of this world.
Then the party really started! Gemma and Kevin had booked Muzika an amazing wedding band who blended traditional Jewish wedding music with Gemma and Kevin’s music tastes to create a bespoke playlist for the wedding party. And these guys were definitely up for a party. The dancefloor was full all night!
We had so much fun capturing Gemma and Kevin’s stunning Ascona wedding at Hotel Eden Roc. If you are looking for an Ascona wedding photographer or Wedding Videographer, please get in touch as we would love to hear from you.
