Hong Kong wedding photography – Mary-Anne and Robert

We love shooting destination weddings and never more so than we get to return to be Hong Kong.  Mary-Anne and Robert had a lot of friends and family-based all around the world so Hong Kong made a great central spot that could easily accommodate western guests.

They chose le Meridien for the ceremony.  This modern 5-star luxury hotel sits on the south side of Hong Kong Island against a backdrop of picturesque Pok Fu Lam Reservoir and Victoria Peak.  Which gave us endless options when it came to romantic images of Mary-Anne and Robert.  The ceremony was held in one of Le Meridien’s contemporary suites.  The interiors of all of the suites have clean lines, elegant and neutral décor and modern floor to ceiling windows that made the most of the spectacular views and threw tons of natural light into the room.  If there’s one thing us Hong Kong wedding photographers love it’s having lots of natural light to play with to create beautiful images.

On the day we caught up with Mary-Anne and her bridal party to get some great bridal prep images.  Mary-Anne was in safe hands with her bridesmaids around her.  The girls were in high spirits and we got some fantastic images.

Mary-Anne looked stunning a gorgeous fitted wedding dress with a bodice top and fishtail shape and lots of intricate lace detail.  The cut of it really suited Mary-Anne’s slender frame and the skirt kicking out at the bottom gave her a beautiful silhouette in all of our images.  Mary-Anne really suited being a bride, she looked so natural and comfortable in front of the camera, which is music to the ears for any Hong Kong wedding photographer.

Now we must mention Robert and his groom’s party who all looked very smart having opted for smart tuxedos with copper bow ties.  Copper, gold and lavender were the wedding colours that we know that Mary-Anne put a lot of thought into the colour scheme and the meanings associated with each colour and each flower used in the wedding.

After a beautiful ceremony guests headed to Watermark Restaurant for the reception.  And we headed off with Mary-Anne and Robert for a mini-photo shoot around Hong Kong to get some gorgeous romantic images.  They were amongst our favourites of the day.

We caught up with everybody else at Watermark.  This beautiful venue has unparalleled waterfront 270-degree panoramic views that take your breath away in daylight and after dark.  Internally it’s elegant and contemporary in style and had been dressed exquisitely for Mary-Anne and Robert’s celebrations.  We loved the rows of long tables that had been decorated so beautifully.

The first dance was a really special moment and we managed to capture it perfectly.  In addition to plenty of delicious food, there were some very heartfelt speeches before the evening celebrations began.  These guys were definitely up for a party and it wasn’t long before people were on the dancefloor.

Before taking our leave, we took one last image of Mary-Anne and Robert overlooking the harbour with Hong Kong all lit up behind them.  It’s a stunning image and our favourite of the day.  Here take a look!
