For a wedding as grand as its venue, that oozes British sophistication, there can be no other. Babington House is no stranger to celebrity weddings either, it has been the chosen venue for some famous guests including James and Julia Corden, and Eddie and Hannah Redmayne to name but only a few.
We’ve had the pleasure capture wedding photography at Babington House over the years, making us pretty comfortable when it comes to knowing our way around the very stylist but modern Somerset venue.
Yet, every time we return, we are reminded why people chose to get married here – it’s all round perfection in every way and the reason we love wedding photography at Babington House not to mention wedding videography at Babington House.
We meet a lot of brides and grooms but we gravitatie to those who want something different and not a run of the mill or boilerplate wedding. We only take 25 weddings a year so that we can provide a completely bespoke and custom approach.
Babington House makes this possible as they also only take a limited number of weddings per year so we work perfectly together. This allows couples to custom their wedding their way binning traditions they didn’t like, keeping the ones they do and introducing some new ones.
It goes without saying Babington House Wedding Photography and Videography is a dream! This stunning Grade II listed Georgian Manor House set within 18 acres of grounds in rural Somerset with a gorgeous walled garden is just breath-taking. Though it’s the interiors that we love the most.

A Bit about the stunning Babington House wedding venue
Nestled in rural Somerset, Babington House is owned by the Soho House Group; known for their style and exclusivity as a private members club. Open every day of the year, it’s only accessible to members and hotel guests.
Its long history dates back to medieval times, its name deriving from the Babington family that owned it. Passing hands through the years, with restoration and renovation along the way, today it remains a Grade II listed building featuring much of its original Georgian architecture.
It’s a simply stunning venue and dream come true for a wedding photographer, since every angle is photographable. You can see this in all the wedding photos and films that we’ve captured here.
A smart move from the owners, is that they only accommodate up to 120 guests. This allows its grounds to be enjoyed and never overwhelmed.
Best Venue in Somerset – Babington House – Part of the Soho Group
Set within 18 acres of grounds, Babington House wedding photography comes to life any time of year. In the summer, it’s grounds glow in rich colours shining through the trees, while in the colder months, it conjures up romantic visions of a bygone era.
Quite unusually for such a luxury venue, it also has its very own church too! Intimate and quaint, St Margret’s Church provides the perfect setting if you are looking at a venue that has everything. Getting married in front of your nearest and dearest without walking distance of the reception makes it even more unique and also makes Wedding photography at Babington House even more special.
However, the Orangery and Library make equally as delightful backdrops, ideal for civil ceremonies and non-religious marriages.
Whenever I ask couples about their choice of wedding venue, they often tell me that Babington House is unmistakably British, and perfectly private. The country pile shows off the countryside in all its splendour, with lawns and lakes providing a very English setting. And because there’s no neighbours (other than the passing sheep), it imposes no curfew… so as a Babington House Wedding Videographer we can go on until the early hours!

With neutral tones that effortlessly compliment any colour scheme, the Orangery is the perfect canvas for a special wedding day. It’s the main venue for the wedding breakfast, but vows can also be exchanged here. Babington House wedding photography is easy to capture in this room, since its large open windows allow it to bask in natural light. While giant chandeliers give a sense of opulence and occasion.
Here guests are treated to five-star dining, and an impressive wine menu. Every detail is thought of, from vintage glasses to luxurious leather seats. Oh, and of course, there’s plenty of room for dancing too! Another reason many bridal parties choose to stay here is for its facilities. In the lead-up to your wedding day, the Cowshed spa is a fabulous spot for some pampering. While guests can also make the most of its tennis courts and cricket grounds.
There are 33 beautiful stylist and all totally unique bedrooms that get booked up in advance, so forward planning is a must if you want your guests to stay and enjoy the evening with you. Plush velvet sofas in cornflour blue contrast against elegant four-poster beds and hanging fairy lights in master bedrooms complete its charm and make your guests feel like they are staying in total luxury!
Elsewhere, the stable block rooms are ideal for families with plenty of space and amenities for everyone to enjoy. Decorated with a touch of shabby-chic opulence and set in the sublime grounds, Babington House is quite simply an outstanding location. It’s every bit alluring to those seeking a romantic setting in the great British countryside, with all the trappings of Soho House living.
