Wedding Photography at Delamare Manor – Katherine and Jon’s Day
Katherine and Jon chose gorgeous Delamere Manor for their winter wedding in Cheshire. Once the home of singer song writer Gary Barlow, this beautiful manor house overlooks an idyllic lakes and sits in 100 acres of idyllic countryside. Today it’s an award-winning wedding venue. Katherine and Jon fell in love with it the second they saw it.
On the day we woke to glorious December sunshine, and headed to Delamare Manor to catch up with the wedding parties. Katherine and her bridal party were getting ready in Delamare Manor’s beautiful and spacious bridal suite. We found the girls sipping champagne in their pyjamas and Katherine in the capable hands of make-up artist Carla Lawson.
Katherine looked amazing in her Pronovias dress that she bought at Swarwicks Bridal Boutique in Manchester. It was strapless and boned in a gorgeous Mikado fabric with a stunning ballgown skirt that gave Katherine an amazing fairy-tale silhouette in all of our film and images. It really suited her and the grandeur of Delamare House. Her long brunette hair had been elegantly styled to cascade down her back in beautiful curls by specialist bridal hairstylist Wedlocks. Katherine complemented the dress with a pretty veil and a bouquet of simple white flowers with green foliage created by florist Boujee Boxes. Who did all the flowers on the day and were really helpful in bringing Katherine’s vision to life.
Before heading to the ceremony, we captured an emotional father seeing the bride moment. Bridesmaids looked elegant in sparkly emerald green dresses including Jon’s lovely daughter Maisie. And Katherine and Jon’s baby daughter Margot made a very sweet flower girl.

We also had a chance to catch up with Jon who was getting ready in another of Delamare’s suites and got a couple of images of him. He and his grooms party looked very smart in traditional tuxedos in black from Hugo Boss.
The wedding ceremony was held in Delamere Manor’s stunning glass fronted courtyard that had been decorated beautifully with tons of candles that flickered, adding to the magical fairy lit ceiling. There were also hanging floral arrangements in mistletoe and pine as a nod to the season. It looked so enchanting and intimate. Katherine was walked down the aisle by her dad whilst singer Craig Elliot sang and played the piano.
The gorgeous ceremony ended with a fun kiss the bride moment under mistletoe, here take a look!
Then everybody headed outside for a fun confetti moment before guests all enjoyed a drinks reception. With everybody catered for, we whisked Katherine and John away for a mini photoshoot around the stunning gardens and grounds of Delamere Manor. The low sunshine created a soft romantic haze and we got some really amazing images. Here, take a look!

The wedding breakfast was also a feast for the eyes with tables dressed exquisitely. Katherine and Jon are self-confessed foodies and worked with caterers Cheeky Chilli Events to create a bespoke wedding menu with delicious food that went down really well with everybody. Whilst eating guests were entertained again by singer Craig Elliot.
We must mention Katherine and Jon’s white wedding cake with ginger bread houses on as it was spectacular, and was kindly made by talented friend of the family Alison. These guys also had a cheese wedding cake made by The Liverpool Cheese Company.
Now we love little quirks at weddings as they tell us something of our couple’s personalities. At Katherine and Jon’s wedding we loved their decision to sing ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ with each table being one of the 12 days. Each table stood to take their turn to sing and it was so much fun. A real ice breaker that set the tone for a fn and chilled out reception.
Evening celebrations started with the cutting of that amazing wedding cake followed by a romantic first dance for Katherine and Jon. There was also a pretty sparkler serenade that we captured perfectly. Here, take a look!

For the evening entertainment Katherine and Jon’s guests were really in for a treat. They’d hired the talented team from Archer Street Soho. These guys are professional performers from West End shows, they stand on tables and sing well known songs for everybody to singalong to. The energy they bought to Katherine and Jon’s wedding party was epic, they sang and danced with guests and really got the party started and kept it going all night.
A stylish and joyous wedding at a simply stunning wedding venue. Katherine and Jon’s wedding was so much fun to capture. Congratulations guys and thanks for having us there. We loved it!
We’ll leave the last words to Katherine and Jon, here’s their thoughts on us!
“I would go as far to say… if you can’t get Mick and Ash to do your wedding photography and videography. Don’t get married at all! Ok that’s a bit extreme but you get my point. These guys are the creme de la creme. The bees’ knees, the absolute godfathers of their industry. Seriously though, don’t get married or rearrange your date to suit Mick and Ash!!!
Myself and Jon, we like having our picture taken but we also feel a bit awkward. It can be slightly cringey and because we feel awkward, we can goof about. Mick and Ash put us both at ease, they made us feel so comfortable, like our friends were just taking some lovely pictures of us. Nothing was staged or cringey, it was all very relaxed and enjoyable. The guys have a brilliant eye for detail and know what looks good. They give direction but not so you feel stiff or on edge. They captured shots in amongst the party. real pictures of us all having a good time. Not posing pictures that don’t give a true reflection of the day. I think what makes them so good, is their shots encompass the feeling of the day and to capture a feeling, is a true talent. When we look back on our photos and videos or when people who didn’t attend the wedding look at them; they’ll instantly be able to pick up the vibe from the day and the love we had around us on that day. These guys are beyond talented! They left late during the party. Was a shame though because after a day with them, they felt like mates. That’s how comfortable they make you feel. Good time guys who are the best at what they do!
Before coming across MIKI studios, I can’t tell you how many wedding videography websites I scoured, and of course watched the featured films on their websites. After watching too many to mention, i can hand on heart say the majority made me want to vom! They’re so cringey, it’s embarrassing! So, then I came across MIKI studios & watched the feature films and i was like WOW! As if this is just a regular couple getting married, the films are beautiful. Like really beautiful. some even made me cry. what’s up with me?! I watched a stranger’s wedding video done my Mick and it brought a tear to my eye and a lump in my throat. Mick’s videos take you on a journey of the day. You don’t just watch his films, you feel them. That’s what I loved most about his work; you really got a sense of the day as if you were there. After the day is done, you can replay over and over the video of your day and for a brief moment in time, you can relive one of the most special days of your life, over and over again. I wish Mick and Ash were around to capture every monumental life event!
I guess we were slightly apprehensive how the photography was going to go, neither of us have had professional pictures taken before. We had nothing to be worried about. We had such a laugh with Ash that he captured our day while also adding to it. We wanted a handful of traditional group shops which Ash was more than happy to accommodate and the rest of the pictures were a relaxed style. Just capturing guests in the moment, having a good time. we were also a little worried about how it was possible to even capture good images with us getting married in December. There was a chance of a rainy and overcast day (thankfully it was glorious sunshine) but also it goes dark so early in December, we were worried there would be enough light to capture pictures after our 2pm ceremony. Again, we needn’t have worried. Ash was slick. He knew to act fast and where to position us to get the best light. The pictures i have seen so far are stunning. The lighting looks like a filter. They’re breathtaking.
