Northbrook Park wedding photographer – Pooja and Richard
We always love returning to capture wedding photography at Northbrook Park. Pooja and Richard chose the perfect venue for their summer wedding in London.
We first met these two when we captured their pre-wedding photoshoot in London. So, seeing them again on their wedding day felt like catching up with friends. And they’d travelled from Dubai where they currently live, to get married in London.
Northbrook Park is a historic Grade II listed 18th-century manor house, surrounded by manicured gardens and situated on the Hampshire/Surrey borders just outside of London. Pooja, Richard and their wedding party stayed onsite in Northbrook’s pretty cottages.
The day contained two ceremonies, a traditional Indian ceremony and a more westernised ceremony. So a big shout out should go to the wedding planners Sagarvyas Events who planned the day, Gayatri Weddings who were responsible for décor along with florist Leanne from The Village Florist, who incorporated Pooja’s favourite playa blanca roses into her bouquet, and created beautiful arrangements of white roses, gypsophila and green foliage.
The Hindu celebrations started with a traditional groom’s procession for Richard, there was singing, dancing and smoke canons and it was loud, joyous and colourful. We always love capturing Hindu wedding photography as its perfectly fits our style of documentary wedding photography. Richard looked very smart in a white sherwani that he bought in Mumbai.
Pooja looked amazing in a red lehenga with gold details, it was traditional with a modern twist of simplicity. Her hair and make-up were immaculate courtesy of keyuryd. The Hindu ceremony included a traditional fire ritual and the exchange of flower garlands.
Afterwards, everybody enjoyed lunch prepared by specialist caterers Laguna. Who served all of Pooja and Richards’s favourite Indian dishes for lunch and then again later for dinner.
Afterwards, Pooja and Richard had their Western-style ceremony with Pooja looking stunning in an exquisite beaded and lace-fitted Stella York dress. And Richard looked very in a traditional black-tie suit from Hawes & Curtis.
The ceremony was held in the classically elegant Vine room that features crystal chandeliers, vine leaf engravings, marble flooring and tall French windows that flooded to room with natural light and offered gorgeous views of the terrace and grounds. The ceremony was beautiful and ended with Pooja and Richard walking back down the aisle as a married couple under a flurry of white confetti.
Pooja and Richard wanted to incorporate a little of their beloved Dubai into their wedding day so they gifted small bottles of a custom mixed oud oil for their guests as wedding favours. They also gave their little nieces soft toy camels that proved to be very popular with them. They didn’t put them down all day!
For evening celebrations, it was a return to vibrant colours with celebrations starting with the cutting of the most exquisite looking three-tiered wedding cake off differing delicious flavours. It was made by Baking It Yummy. As they cut the cake to a backdrop of fireworks it was clear that the party had begun. And with DJ Rugrat playing the perfect blend of old-school classic RnB to Bollywood favourites for the family, the dancefloor was packed all night.
An amazing colourful fun-filled wedding for Pooja and Richard. Thanks for having us there guys – we loved it. We’ll leave the last words to them. Here’s Pooja and Richard’s thoughts on us!
