Quendon Hall wedding photographers and videographers – Sarah and Ravi’s Day
We always love returning to be Quendon Hall wedding photographers and videographers, and Sarah and Ravi’s fabulous Indian wedding gave us the chance to do just that. We first met these two when we captured their small civil wedding ceremony, which we also used as a pre-wedding photoshoot before the big day. So, seeing them again was like catching up with old friends.
Quendon Hall in Essex is a stunning 17th-century Georgian Manor House situated on a stunning deer farm. Its perfect blend of historic grandeur and modern luxury makes it a stunning wedding location. And with exclusive use Sarah, Ravi and their guests could make it their own for the day.
The pair chose to wear traditional clothes for their Indian ceremony, which they bought from Mongas UK . Sarah looked so beautiful in a red lengha with floral details, along with intricate henna artwork on her hands and traditional jewellery from Vama Fashions. Her hair and make-up were immaculate thanks to Bhavnishbeauty. Ravi looked very handsome in a cream sherwani.
There was a traditional Baraat wedding procession, that saw Ravi and his wedding guests singing, dancing and playing dohl drums down along the driveway of Quendon Hall. It was so joyous and colourful and a perfect match for our style of documentary wedding photography. The procession ended at the door of Quendon Place, where they were greeted by Sarah’s family with gifts before there were some traditional games. It was so much fun.

The wedding ceremony took place in the stunning pavilion room. Its silk-lined ceilings crystal chandeliers and twinkling lights made it perfect for a wedding. Sarah and Ravi’s colour scheme was gold, yellow, and peach pastel florals with pops of natural green. A beautiful mendap had been erected that had been dressed exquisitely in flowers by the talented team at Niche flowers. We captured an utterly beautiful traditional wedding ceremony where many of the traditional Indian wedding rituals were observed.
Now, we want to talk about the food at Sarah and Ravi’s wedding. It started early, and just kept on coming. There was a light breakfast and Indian tea, for lunch traditional vegetarian Punjabi dishes. The sit-down meal was a feast of different curries and a 12ft dessert table to choose from. And then in the evening floating canapes and live stations. All of it is utterly delicious and all provided by specialist caterers Ragasaan caterers.
The many-tiered wedding cake looked both elegant and delicious. It was lemon and raspberry flavour with a lemon butter filling and was the clever creation of Little Cake Kitchen.
For the reception, Sarah and Ravi glammed things up even more, by getting changed into new outfits. Sarah looked stunning in a pink princess cut lengha and Ravi seemed very smart in a dark blue three-piece tux. They looked like they’d just stepped out of a movie set, and their look really set the tone for the evening celebrations.
Storytelling Indian wedding photography at Quendon Hall
As experienced Asian wedding videographers and photographers, our favourite place to capture the day is always the dancefloor, especially when the dohl players do a set. And Mick and I always bravely get right in the action on the dancefloor to capture amazing film and images. Sarah and Ravi’s guests were definitely up for a party and the film and images we got really captured the sheer joy of the moment. Here, take a look!
Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without music and electronic violinist Alleya-Weibel played a mixture of pop, afro-beats and RnB whilst guests enjoyed canapes. DJ Jas Dohal then really got the party started and the dance floor full.
Though the highlight of the evening celebrations was Ravi’s family surprising him by getting up and dancing to some Bollywood classics, and he was even more surprised when Sarah got up and joined them!
We love, love, loved capturing Sarah and Ravi’s gorgeous Indian wedding at Quendon Hall. An amazing celebration for this amazing couple. We’ll leave the last words to Sarah and Ravi. Here are their thoughts on us!
“We couldn’t be happier to recommend MIKI studios. Mick and Ash made us feel completely as ease and were able to tell the story of our big day in a way that we are so proud of. The images and film were beautiful, real and so much fun! They both fitted into the day so well and made the most out our timings to make sure we captured everything we wanted. It was truly a pleasure
For the film, we wanted it to be an energetic snapshot that transported us back to the day. We got exactly this from MIKI! We wanted images that captured the real day and moments that we could look back on and smile at. Colourful, relaxed and full of love – much like the life that we want to embark on together”.
