Northbrook Park Wedding Photographer – Paz and Tad’s Day
As experienced Northbrook Park wedding photographers, we always love returning to capture wedding photography and film at this stunning Grade-II listed Manor House wedding venue. Paz and Tad chose the perfect location for their winter wedding in Hampshire.
We first met Paz and Tad when we captured their pre-wedding photoshoot in London’s Covent Garden. So, seeing them again felt like catching up with friends.
On the day we headed to Northbrook Park nice and early so we could capture those all-important mornings of the wedding images. Paz was getting ready in a gorgeous bridal suite and had her army of bridesmaids with her. The atmosphere was fizzing with anticipation with everybody excited for the day. And there was a little bit of bubbly to start the celebrations early.
Paz looked amazing in her Martina Liana dress that she bought at Angelica Bridal. It had a square neckline, thin straps and an A-line skirt that gave Paz an amazing silhouette in all of our images. The sparkly fairy-tale shape of the dress suited the grandeur and style of the venue. Her hair had been elegantly styled by hair stylist Deborah Lola and her makeup was flawless and expertly applied by make-up artist Temme Beauty. Paz’s bridesmaids looked elegant in wine-red off-shoulder maxi dresses from SilkFred.
Tad looked very smart in a traditional tails suit with a white tuxedo jacket and black bow tie. His groom’s party wore tailored fit grey twill suits with burgundy bow ties that they hired from Moss Bross.
The wedding ceremony was held in Northbrook Park’s elegant Vine Room. With crystal chandeliers, delicate vine-leaf engravings and a marble floor, it’s a majestic space ideal for a wedding ceremony. Light floods through the tall French windows that offer views across the terrace and grounds. The space had been decorated beautifully with soft candlelight, flower petals and a beautiful floral arrangement above the feature fireplace.
The bridal procession consisted of three very sweet flower girls and a handsome page boy, then Paz’s six bridesmaids, and then Paz who was walked down the aisle by her proud father.
The wedding ceremony was wonderfully personal with some lovely readings and a ‘kiss the bride’ moment that really wowed the guests. After the ceremony, there was a chance to take some great group images of the wedding party.
Everybody then enjoyed a drinks and canapes reception to live musical accompaniment from Bella Duo a husband and wife singing duo who sang well-known songs that went down really well with everybody.
The wedding reception was held in Northbrook Park’s Orangery. This naturally lit space has a glass roof, a draped ceiling adorned with twinkling fairy lights and its own built-in bar area and dancefloor. So had everything Paz and Tad needed for their wedding celebration in one place. Numerous glass doors along one wall open out onto a beautiful walled garden (complete with roaming peacocks)
Paz and Tad were welcomed rapturously to their wedding reception by their already-seated guests. The tables for the reception were dressed exquisitely in crisp white linen, flowers in burgundy and blush with green foliage and candles. Both were the clever creations of wedding planner Rianna Elizabeth, who was enormously helpful to Paz and Tad. And the creative talents of their florist Two Little Birds.
We loved the wedding favours of little bottles of Amarula. Which is a South African liqueur. And we must mention the elegant two-tiered wedding cake with fondant flowers made by M & H Cake Company.
Paz and Tad were very keen to have traditional African food at their wedding. The team at Northbrook Park (despite having their own in-house team of chefs) welcomed specialist caterers Taste Heaven who prepared delicious African food that celebrated Paz and Tad’s families’ culture. The food was amazing!
After the meal, there were some more very well-received speeches, before Paz and Tad took to the dancefloor for a romantic first dance on a starlit dancefloor. They were quickly joined by their guests who were really up for a party. And DJ Ash was there to make sure they got one. The dancefloor was full with the youngest right through to the oldest guests partying together. And we took the chance to capture some fantastic dancefloor images and film.
Paz and Tad still had one more surprise for their guests, a sparkler serenade. We love sparklers at weddings, not just because they add a bit of magic at a point in the wedding when you think all of the surprises are done. But also, because they make for fantastic wedding photos and film. And it was the image of Paz and Tad, kissing under the sparklers, that felt like the perfect image to close the story of their amazing wedding day.
We had so much fun capturing wedding photography and film for Paz and Tad’s Northbrook Park wedding. Thanks for having us there, guys. We loved it! We’ll leave the last words to them. Here are their thoughts on us!
“100% would recommend. Yes, they do charge the premium price tag for photography and cinematography but it’s worth it to have amazing pictures and work with such relaxed and funny but professional people. This is the only evidence we have off our special day and it was important that the pictures and videos would make us laugh and cry for years to come.
The video was so efficiently and beautifully made, we did not expect to have anything so quickly following the wedding and we loved sharing it with friends and families as they nursed their hangovers! It featured important points of the day and we can’t wait to see the full video and already know it’ll be amazing.
The initial pictures we received following the wedding were beautifully lit, showed the glamorous side to the wedding but also had warm, wintery tones and managed to hide/conceal the torrential rain we had on the day. We were able to see everyone’s facial expressions and their happiness and joy for us but varying what was focused in certain pictures. We loved both the black and white and coloured photos and the attention to detail of the room was captured for example the candles and, special features in the ceremony room.”
