Hawkstone Hall Wedding Photography and Film

Hawkstone Hall Wedding Photography and Hawkstone Hall Wedding videography – Reena & Chris’ wedding at Hawkstone Hall, Shropshire

We loved shooting wedding photography and film for Reena and Chris’s gorgeous fusion wedding at the impressive Hawkstone Hall and Gardens.

On the day there was a lot get through.  A traditional Indian ceremony, A civil ceremony followed by one big party!  Meaning there were several costume changes throughout the day with Reena getting to wear three separate dresses!

Shooting Fusion wedding photography and film is something we are very used to as wedding photographers.  However, filming and shooting wedding photography at Hawkstone Hall and Gardens was a new experience for us and one we thoroughly enjoyed.  This grade I listed 18th-century mansion in 88 acres of gardens with views across the beautiful Shropshire countryside was like something out of a period drama. It’s vast spaces both inside and out, and elegant and palatial feel made it perfect for Reena and Chris’s wedding day plans.

For the Indian ceremony, Reena and Chris focused on the critical elements of the Hindu wedding.  Hawkstone Hall was transformed to accommodate a mandap (a wedding altar).  Chris arrived in the traditional vara yatra style with his best men and two dhol players (traditional drummers). On arrival, the party was greeted with a traditional rice toss, Chris was presented with a plate and a garland.  Then a tilak (dot on the forehead) was administered and Chris was ready to marry his bride.  Reena looked absolutely beautiful in a traditional red and gold Hindu bridal attire.  The only regret she had after the day was that she didn’t get to stay in it for longer.

After the ceremony guests were given lunch of Indian street food provided by specialist caterers Coriander Group and enjoyed classical Indian tabla (hand drum) music, there was also a mendhi artist who painted guests with traditional henna.

Reena, Chris and the wedding party then got changed for the civil ceremony that was held in Hawkstone Hall’s chapel.  The chapel was dressed with lots of greens, white candles and fairy lights giving it a really magical and elegant look.  Reena looked stunning in her white, fitted backless dress; its small train gave her a perfect silhouette in all of our images of her.  Here take a look!

At the civil ceremony, there were readings by Chris’s sisters and singing by the best man and his wife.  It was a lovely and personal ceremony.  There was musical accompaniment by Craig Owens on the violin and a pianist.

To help their guests feel part of both ceremonies, Reena and Chris had thoughtfully got ceremony booklets made.  The booklets outlined all the steps performed during the Hindu ceremony and along with everybody’s role in the civil ceremony.  It was a fantastic way of fusing the two cultures and making all of their guests feel like an active part of Reena and Chris’s day.

Guests all then enjoyed a traditional wedding breakfast where Reena’s sisters did a heartfelt speech.  As the wedding date was 20th December, Reena and Chris gave the table plans a fun theme by naming each table after a Christmas movie.  We love wedding favours as they tell us something about our couple’s personalities.  Reena and Chris opted for bags of sweets to symbolise their lives in Hong Kong where gifts of sweets symbolise a gift of happiness.

Reena changed into her third dress of the day.  A stunning gold princess lengha filled with sparkles.  It was the perfect fusion of western culture meets Bollywood.  Reena confessed it was a little heavy to wear, but she absolutely loved it.

Nothing says party like bhangra dancers.  They got evening celebrations off to an electrifying start giving the DJ a full dancefloor for the duration of the night.  The evening also carried the Christmas theme with mulled wine, mince pies and a cheese-board. Reena and Chris’s guests were seriously well fed!

Our wedding film (Hawkstone Hall Wedding videography) and images (Hawkstone Hall Wedding photography) did their best to convey just how spectacular Reena and Chris’s fusion wedding at Hawkstone Hall was.  An epic wedding that perfectly blended two cultures. Culminating in one glorious celebration at the end of the day.

Massive congratulations guys, thank you for having us there – We loved it!
