Shooting The Great House Sonning Wedding photography and working with fantastic couples like Charlotte and Jas are two reasons why we love being London wedding photographers.
Charlotte and Jas chose the perfect venue for their summer wedding. Set on the banks of the beautiful river The Great House offers a sweeping setting, with manicured lawns and stunning scenery. When it comes to idyllic settings and perfect backdrops it really is every London wedding photographers dream venue!
Charlotte looked stunning in her Justin Alexander dress which had a classic ball gown shape but with a modern twist of organza stripes. It really suited her.
After a beautiful ceremony in the Great House Lodge, which is bathed in natural light (we love natural light!) Charlotte, Jas and their guests headed outside for a drinks reception and we took our chance to get some fantastic shots of everybody relaxed and taking in their surroundings. We loved the portrait shots of Charlotte and Jas, take a look!
The wedding breakfast was fun! Charlotte and Jas abandoned the top table rules and filled the top table with a mixture of family and friends. They also went for a BBQ which suited the tone and style of the wedding and venue just perfect. We love the quirks at weddings as they tell us about our couple’s personalities, at Charlotte and Jas’s wedding our favourite quirk were the ‘marriage is messy’ bibs – fun and practical addition!
Flowers on the day were the clever creation of nearby florists Sonning Flowers and looked fantastic. Some couples play it safe with white but we loved the bright flowers in glass terrariums and the fireplace arrangement behind the top table. So original!
Now we must talk about ‘The Wandering Hands’ and no we’re not referring to a drunk uncle but to three amazing singers with guitars and a saxophone who entertained everybody throughout the day. They started with a surprise version of ‘This crazy little thing called love’ as Charlotte and Jas walked back down the aisle and went on to entertain everybody throughout the day culminated in sing-a-longs right up to 7 pm. They were great, check them out on Youtube.
The cake! Now as you can imagine we’ve seen a lot of wedding cakes but Lizzie from Dolly Dew Drops really delivered on this one. Taking all the elements from Charlotte and Jas’s invites, flowers and décor she designed and made a cake that looked and apparently tasted amazing!
Now we know a bride means business when she changes from her heals into sparkly pumps once the dancing starts! This lot was up for a party and not shy to hit the dancefloor where many a shape was cut!
Charlotte and Jas created such a thoughtful wedding all the time thinking about their guests experience above their own and it paid off. A vibrant, stylish, fun, laid back wedding that Charlotte, Jas and their loved ones will remember forever. Thank you for having us there guys. We hope our images will enable you to relive your amazing day again and again for many years to come.
