countryside and this was certainly the case when we shot Pippa and Ed’s wedding at stylish Joldwynds in the Surrey Hills. This 1930’s Grade II listed modernist art deco house is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the Weald. So, gave us 360 degrees of stunning backdrops both indoors and out for stunning wedding photos. Joldwynds really was the perfect location for Pippa and Ed’s stylish wedding. Historically the house is a cultural hub for lovers of music, art and literature and has been the location of many concerns, filming, retreats and artist residences. But Pippa and Ed’s fantastic wedding planner Rosanna persuaded the team there to open their doors to host Pippa and Ed’s wedding. On the day we got there early so we could capture some images of both the bridal and grooms’ parties as they got ready. Pippa looked amazing in her Rosa Grace dress that had the most beautiful rose patterned lace detail that gave the dress a wonderfully romantic feel. The figure-skimming cut worked perfectly with Pippa’s slim frame and the gentle train and beautiful veil that Pippa made and hand-stitched herself gave her a look of old-fashioned vintage glamour that worked so well with the style of Joldwynds. Bridesmaids wore gorgeous dresses with a cream camisole top and dusky pink chiffon skirts and the bouquets looked so understatedly elegant with sage green and dusky pink. We captured a gorgeous father seeing the bride moment just before the ceremony. Now we don’t want to miss Ed out. He looked very smart in a dark blue suit and we loved his patterned waistcoat. The wedding ceremony was held outside on the lawn with those magnificent views all around. As experienced Greater London wedding photographers we’ve seen a lot of wedding ceremonies so can confirm that Pippa and Ed’s wedding ceremony was truly unique. Firstly, the wedding was conducting by one of their close friends Lara who is also a celebrant and went all out wearing a pope hat for the proceedings. The ceremony included handwritten vows, a reading about love that had been written by Pippa and a hand tying ritual. This pair made one another’s wedding rings and Ed wore his late father’s watch and cufflinks. It’s always special when couples find a way to include absent loved ones on their wedding days. All of these details made the ceremony feel so sincere and authentic. Now we love quirks at weddings as they tell us something of our couple’s personalities. At Pippa and Ed’s wedding it was the bridesmaids’ hankies with ‘keep your shit together’ written on them and the groom’s party with ‘carpe vinum’ (seize the wine) engraved onto their collar stiffeners. The girls kept their end of the bargain (just!) and the boys rose to the challenge. After the ceremony, there was a confetti canon moment that was so fun and gave us some fantastic images. Here, take a look! As guests enjoyed a drinks and canapes reception outside, we took our chance to quickly and unobtrusively get some amazing portrait and group images of Pippa, Ed and their guests. Some formal and some candid. The wedding breakfast took place indoors with tables dressed exquisitely in a European long table layout. There was also the French tradition of guests waving napkins above their heads. There were also some rapturously received speeches and the most delicious looking wedding cake made entirely of different cheeses. Evening celebrations started back outside with a romantic first dance on the lawn in bare feet underneath a string of lights and a strategically placed disco ball! Disco ball aside, it made a romantic image and it wasn’t long before Pippa and Ed were joined and there were shapes being cut all over the place. Congratulations to Pippa and Ed for getting married and creating such a fun, unique and stylish wedding for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember. And thanks for having us there, we loved it! We’ll leave the last words to Pippa and Ed. Here’s what they had to say about working with us. “We loved the style of MIKI studios and it was clear they were a step above all other photographers. We had seen that they could capture the iconic moments in a wedding. We would (and have!) absolutely recommend them to anyone getting married … we feel so lucky to have MIKI be part of our wedding day team. The photos are so stunning and captured the day so wonderfully. We love the colour and vibrancy the photos have and even the posed photos don’t look posed which we love. Also, the group shots were super quick meaning we could get on with enjoying our day! Because everything was such a happy blur, we’re actually using the photos to jog our memories on what happened and who we managed to have chats with! Ash captured the day and the relaxation so perfectly.” Pippa & Ed’s wedding gallery is now online!Get the password from the couple and view/order images from their big day by clicking this link:View Pippa & Ed’s wedding galleryAs a special thank’s for being such awesome guests, there is a 50% off code on all prints.
