Islington Town Hall Wedding Photography
Islington Town Hall wedding photography is always a pleasure to capture. This impressive iconic listed building with its grand façade and beautiful marble staircase is located in Islington’s fashionable Upper Street.
When we shoot wedding photography at Islington Town Hall we always love seeing which of the impressive rooms our couples have booked for their wedding ceremony. An array of rooms means Islington Town Hall can accommodate weddings from two-person elopements through to 160 guests and just about everything in between.
Islington Town Hall is licensed to marry couples throughout the week mornings and afternoons as well as Saturdays through to 6 pm and Sundays making it one of London’s busiest Town Hall’s for marriages – Isn’t that romantic, but its such a beautiful venue and its easy to see why this is one of the top London wedding venues.
The first of the rooms we want to talk about is The Council Chamber. The largest room, it is accessed at the top of the Town Hall’s impressive marble staircase creating a dramatic entrance before you’ve even reached it. The room has a beautiful vaulted ceiling and stunning stained-glass windows that throw light around the room (us London wedding photographers are always thrilled when we are given any additional light to play with!). Guests are seated in a horse-shoe shape giving ceremonies a wonderfully intimate feel as every guest gets a good seat as they are seated around the couple whilst they say their vows. The Council Chamber has capacity for 100 guests as well as an additional 60 guests on the balcony. When we shoot wedding photography at Islington Town Hall, we love taking images of our couples and their guests on the balcony.
If you are looking for a smallish wedding in a setting that makes the most of Islington Town Hall’s stylish 1920’s design then The Richmond Room is for you. This long room features oak panelling, large windows and elaborate plasterwork ceilings and has capacity for 60 guests.
Room 99 is perfect for smaller ceremonies as it has capacity for 28 guests. Large windows flood it with natural light that bounces of the beautiful chandelier. It has elegant interiors of red and gold with permanent floral displays meaning that you don’t need to dress the room as it’s simple elegance really works and always makes for a beautiful backdrop in all of our images.
For elopement or Micro weddings, there are two small rooms that can accommodate just the couple and two guests who will act as witnesses. The first is The Statutory Room where services are kept swift using the minimal legal wording allowed to get married.
The second elopement ceremony room is The Mayor’s Parlour. This sumptuous oak-panelled room is luxuriously furnished in red leather with a stunning feature built-in fireplace. Historically used to entertain dignitaries this small room makes a big impact for an intimate wedding.
And as if all that isn’t enough. Islington Town Hall is perfectly located close to several fantastic wedding venues. Within a very short drive, there is the elegant The Ned, the opulent Kew Gardens and the uber-stylish Cafe Royal to name just three.
So, if you’re looking for a London wedding photographer to shoot your wedding photography at Islington Town Hall or you are thinking of getting married at another one of Londons top town hall wedding venues then get in touch. We’d love to hear about your plans.
