Olivia and Christopher chose the perfect venue for their late summer wedding. Buxted Park is a beautiful 18th-century Palladian mansion house in the Ashdown Forest. Whenever we return to shoot Buxted Park Wedding photography, we always love driving down the sweeping tree-lined drive with lush views of the East Sussex countryside that has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. It always creates an air of excitement about the day ahead. Olivia looked stunning in her Berta wedding dress that suited her so perfectly. It had a striking sculpted body shape and lace detailing right through and complimented with a pretty veil and train and an elegant bouquet of white flowers. Olivia looked so natural and comfortable as the bride which enabled me to get some fantastic images. Olivia loves whites and beiges so the colour scheme and style of Buxted park really suited her vision for the day. The six bridesmaids wore gorgeous white halter neck dresses and had bouquets of simple white flowers.Now I don’t want to miss the boys out. Christopher went for black tails and a white tie, as did his best man with the rest of the groom’s party going for black three-piece suits. This simple black and white colour palette for the wedding party worked really well and I got a fantastic image of them all in the impressive gardens of Buxted Park. Here, take a look! The ceremony was held in Buxted Park’s spectacular Victorian orangery as it has a license to hold civil ceremonies. Overlooking the hotel’s main terrace, formal lawns it has views down to the tranquil lake. It also has a glass ceiling and large decorative mirrors that ensure the orangery is bathed in natural light regardless of what the weather is doing outside (music to the ears of any East Sussex wedding photographer) And the tasteful décor means that every time I return to be a Buxted Park wedding photographer, I always have fantastic backdrops when photographing my couples. The wedding breakfast was held in The Library. This majestic room feature five (yes, count them five!) empire chandeliers, two ornamental feature fireplaces and full-length Georgian sash windows. And with direct access to its own private terrace, it really is the perfect space for a wedding reception. After a fantastic meal there were some great speeches that were both funny and emotional so had everybody in tears. As guests happily finished their drinks and mingled I quickly whisked Olivia and Christoper outside to get some romantic portrait images of them around the gardens and grounds of Buxted Park. Whilst we love documentary photography we also love to create a portrait or two, Images at this time of day are the most romantic as low light created by the sun beginning to set give a gorgeously soft focus to romantic portrait images. Evening celebrations were held in the garden back at the family home and kick-started with the cutting of the wedding cake. No, scrap that. It wasn’t a wedding cake it was a delicious profiterole tower and Olivia and Christopher didn’t cut it they smashed it with a bottle of champagne. Oh, and there were confetti cannons and balloons. It made a for a fun moment and a great image. I always love a quirky and modern twist on tired traditions. The garden house made the perfect bar and the marquee was beautifully decorated with fairy lights under which Olivia and Christopher enjoyed their first dance. The celebrations were topped off with a fantastic fireworks display. A beautiful wedding at a gorgeous venue for this lovely couple. Thanks for having us there guys. We loved it! We will leave the last words to Olivia and Christopher. Here’s what they had to say about with us. “Ash has blown us away with his talent and hard work. His photos have captured moments which we thought would only be memories. He spends time with the family observing and listening, he has a sixth sense for anticipating and capturing those special moments. Looking at each and every photo brings back floods of emotion and takes us right back to those moments. I cannot speak highly enough of Ash and his above and beyond efforts”"}
