Trinity Buoy Wharf Wedding Photography & Film

As premier London wedding photographers we get to shoot weddings at some spectacular venues and this was most definitely the case when we shot and filmed Georgie and Mitul’s stunning wedding on a scorching day in London – Trinity Buoy Wharf Wedding Photography & Film.

Georgie and Mitul chose Trinity Buoy Wharf for their wedding venue.  With its spectacular riverside location and stunning views across London, it was an inspired choice and one we could exclude from our best wedding venues in London.  Trinity Buoy Wharf is home to London’s one and only lighthouse and has a rich maritime history dating back to Henry VIII reign in 1511.  It was no coincidence that the wedding was held by a lighthouse surrounded by water. Georgie grew up on the island of Mombasa and the lighthouse was the centre of her island and where she played as a child.  So the surroundings had special significance to her.

On the day we provided both wedding photography and wedding film so we arrived on the day at The Raddison Blu hotel where both Georgie and Mitul were staying.  Georgie didn’t really want any getting ready images as it only takes her 10 minutes to get ready (we were sceptical about this but true to form it really did take her just 10 minutes to get ready and as you can see from the images she looks simply amazing!).

Georgie’s beautiful dress was made from her mother’s wedding dress in 1979 and the lace was from her grandmother’s wedding dress so this was a very personal re-creation by Georgie and her mum to make the dress for Georgie in 2018.

Mitul looked resplendent in a Hugo Boss three-piece suit from what Georgie describes as Mitul’s favourite corner shop … Harrods!  (Just the place to go if you’ve run out of milk!).

As Georgie started to walk down the aisle the venue pulled back enormous wooden doors that opened up a perfect view of the o2 Arena.  It was a real ‘wow’ moment. Georgie and Mitul wanted an East African theme as that is where they had spent their younger years. There were birds of paradise styled plants and flowers and East African fabrics and colours for table runners and napkins.  African animal photos were provided by Georgie’s cousin Hashit Chandaria.

We were particularly taken with the largest bunch of peonies we had ever seen! In fact, peonies were used throughout the wedding in the venue, in buttonholes and bouquets.  This seems the right point to give credit to the clever people at Wildfire Flowers who provided all the flowers for the day.

Another delightful detail was that the entire grooms’ party were wearing pink socks!

After a perfect ceremony Georgie, Mitul and their guests enjoyed a drinks reception on the terrace soaking up the sunshine and spectacular views across London before going back inside to enjoy the reception.  We took some great shots and film of everybody relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. It was really special and we know it was one of Georgie and Mitul’s favourite parts of the day.

Food was Indian, delicious and plentiful and was provided by Payal Catering.  The pair chose Indian food as it is universally popular and always works well in large groups like weddings.

Georgie and Mitul were clear that they wanted a live band for their evening wedding reception so hired ‘The Hares’ who are a fantastic London based covers band and they didn’t disappoint.  The evening kicked off with a romantic first dance before everybody hit the dancefloor. These guys really knew how to party.

Before taking our leave we wanted to capture some evening shots of Georgie and Mitul making use of the spectacular backdrop of London lit up at night.  The combination of the river, London City Airport, the o2 Arena and the skyline dotted with skyscrapers all lit up was magical and seemed a fitting image to close the story of Georgie and Mitul’s amazing wedding day.

We’ll leave the last words to Georgie and Mitul.  Here’s what they had to say about us

‘The guys were truly EPIC and have got huge energy levels. We know the photos and video has to be right as it’s a lifetime investment and we know we will not be let down and the venue lends itself to some amazing photos!
