We love shooting wedding photography at Eight Moorgate Club as it is such an elegant venue with the most amazing views across the city, we love it so much we couldnot leave it out of our top weddings venues n London. We will get back to why we love shooting wedding photography at Eight Moorgate club later. Let’s start at the beginning of Marisa and Lewis’s day.
Marisa and Lewis chose to get married in the Italian Church in Farringdon. The church has a special connection with Marisa’s family as it is the family church and has played host to her family’s baptisms, weddings and funerals over the years. Understandably this made Marisa feel emotional as she entered the beautiful building on her wedding day. The church has a rich history of providing a place of worship and refuge to Italian immigrants living in London. It also has the most majestic interiors as it is designed in the basilica style. This was great for me as churches are usually dark spaces but the large windows and grand white arches and ornate decoration of St Peter’s gave me the most perfect light to capture Marisa and Lewis’s beautiful ceremony. This church also has a very special place in my heart as we captured Frankie and Andy’s wedding there in 2016, this was the wedding where we got my first award-winning wedding photography from Fearless.
Marisa and Lewis both arrived in style to the church, Maris in a Bentley, and Lewis in a truck (which was a surprise arranged by his mum!!). Marisa looked stunning in her dress and veil by Pronovias, shoes by Prada and hair and makeup by The Hair Boutique. The effect is one of elegant glamour, she looked AMAZING! Lewis and his grooms’ party (who also look pretty dapper) wore classic black tuxedos and the bridesmaids were in sage dresses. It was an elegant, clean and simple look that really suited Marisa and Lewis’s style.
Marisa’s bouquet was created by all of the women in her life, each choosing a flower to be incorporated into her bouquet. This was done by ‘Your London Florist’ who also created a beautiful arch of flowers at the reception.
After the ceremony, there was a chance for a few shots before Marisa, Lewis and their guests headed to Eight Moorgate Club for the reception. Marisa and Lewis told me that they chose the venue for its panoramic views of the city and its brilliant terrace, which as the weather was favourable, they were able to enjoy to its full.
Guests enjoyed a lovely drinks reception on arrival and we took the chance to take some beautifully timeless close up portrait shots of Marisa and Lewis. Take a look at them. They are my favourite images of the day.
Now we love the details at weddings that tell you something about the bride and grooms personalities and at Marisa and Lewis’s wedding, it was the wedding favours. Marisa and her mum made personalised little risotto bags for each of the guests to take home. A delightful touch!
As the sunset over the city, Marisa and Lewis took their first dance with live accompaniment of the very talented swing group Jack Pack. Later DJ Slim made sure the dance floor filled were many guests remained for the rest of the night.
This was a beautiful and unique wedding. We really enjoyed telling the story of Marisa and Lewis’s wedding day. We will leave the last words to them …
“MIKI Studios are incredible and captured the whole emotion and essence throughout the day so beautifully capturing our memories for a lifetime. Are you available for our vow renewal in 10 years’ time?”
